About Me


Dr. Kim-Anh Do, Ph.D., is a distinguished figure in the realm of biostatistics and cancer research.
She earned combined degrees in mathematics and computer science from the University of Queensland
(First Class Honors) in 1983, and won the Caltex Woman of the Year Award to pursue and complete her PhD at Stanford University (1990).

As the Professor and previous Chair of the Department of Biostatistics at MD Anderson (2013-2020),
her exemplary career has been marked by notable accolades, including the Electa C. Taylor Chair for Cancer Research in 2017, the Texas 4000 Distinguished Professorship in 2014, the Faculty Scholar Award at UT-MDACC in 2004.

Dr. Do's contributions have earned her recognition as an elected Fellow of esteemed organizations,
including the American Statistical Association, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS),
the Royal Statistical Society, and the International Statistical Institute.

Her impact is further evident through her vital roles as the primary statistician or co-investigator on multiple NIH-funded grants and clinical trials, as well as large EDRN and SPORE grants funded by the NCI, spanning diverse areas from prostate cancer, breast cancer, leukemia, to epidemiology.

With significant publications in various domains, her most recent research endeavors focus on developing clustering and analytical methods for genomic, proteomic, and microbiome expressions.
Dr. Do has also made substantial contributions through the development of bioinformatics software and the authoring of 3 relevant books.

Her unwavering commitment to statistical, medical, and cancer research is evident through her portfolio of over 260 published articles, a testament to her lasting impact on the field.
